CAT Exam Registration 2026

The signing up procedure for individuals to take the CAT 2026 test will begin officially on August 1, 2026, and probably continue until September 13, 2026. CAT 2026 Exam Pattern

Candidates, in order to carry out their preparations in a very good way and in an orderly manner, should not only have but also have the first insight of the CAT exam pattern. The CAT Exam 2026is a computer-based test with a duration of 2 hours that will be held in three sections of 40 minutes each. 

The test consists of questions of both types, i.e. multiple choice questions (MCQs) and non-MCQs. MCQs have a penalty for incorrect answers.There is a penalty for wrong answers in MCQs. The distribution of questions and marks for each section is designed to cover all areas of competence in a complete and deep manner.

The candidates are expected to manage their time in a highly efficient way because the sections have time limits that are not flexible and the auto-progression feature will move the candidate to the next section if he/she exceeds the allowed time in any section.

CAT Exam Eligibility

To give space to candidates with different academic backgrounds in the test, the eligibility criteria for CAT have been designed.

  • A bachelor's degree from a recognized university is a must for the candidates.
  • The minimum score to be obtained is: 50% for General/EWS/NC-OBC categories and 45% for SC/ST/PwD categories.
  • Final-year students have the option to apply as long as they submit proof of graduation before admission.
  • Candidates with professional degrees such as CS, CA, ICWA, or FIAI are also eligible.
  • There are no restrictions within the scope of age or number of attempts; CAT is an open exam for everyone.
  • The confirmation of the CAT 2026 Registration Date will depend on the eligibility verification.
  • The application procedure is not available for the ineligible candidates to proceed with.
